Even with the best will in the world there wasn’t much that our landscaping team could get on with onsite last week. Now, several snowmen and sledge runs later, everything is pretty much back to normal; although many of our neighbours (and a few clients!) in Sussex and Kent still have no water due to broken pipes following the rapid thaw. Fingers crossed that normal service is resumed soon.
Meanwhile, Ali’s been in the office designing and planning for a busy year ahead. Apart from being fully booked on the private client project side for at least the next three months, we also have RHS Chelsea Flower Show to look forward to at the end of May. That’s actually less than 11 weeks away (only 10 weeks until building starts)!
Alongside Wimbledon and the Edinburgh Festival, Chelsea is one of the major annual events on the British calendar, attracting around 167,000 visitors over 5 days. Last year we had such a successful collaboration with fine cast stone makers Chilstone, winning a 5 star award for their tradestand (pictured above), that they’ve only gone and asked us to be a part of it all again! We can’t wait to see what their Product of the Year entry will be, particularly as their Leda and the Swan sculpture was a finalist last year.
We’re also super excited and honoured to be designing and building a stand for Chesneys, the UK’s leading supplier of luxury stoves and fireplaces. We’ll be helping them to showcase their HEAT collection; an innovative range of barbecue heaters that we’ve previously mentioned here.
Who knows, perhaps celebrity chef and HEAT collection fan James Martin will show up at Chelsea and cook a few burgers for the hungry crowds?!
Watch this space for further news and maybe some sneak previews in the run up to the summer flower show season!
