Dare I say it? Only 18 sleeps until Christmas! There, I said it. I still can’t quite believe it though. It seems like only yesterday that we were basking in the afterglow of Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace Flower Shows.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? No? Any ideas? No? Well let us help you out; here are 6 gift ideas, in no particular order, suited to the garden lovers in your life.
Kensington Planters – £95 plus VAT
Fit for a palace and possibly the most famous planters in the world at the moment given that HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose the Kensington Palace garden steps, surrounded by 4 of Chilstone’s handmade Kensington planters, as their stage from which to announce their much-anticipated engagement to the world!
You don’t need a palace to enjoy them though. They look equally stylish in any sized garden.
We love everything about Eco Friendly Gift of the Year 2017 winners Seedball, so of course they had to be on our list.
Their Limited Edition range consists of 3 tins, each with its own design, and each containing a mix of 5 native wildflower species loved by bees or butterflies. Bee Mix contains bee-loving plants including foxglove, Butterfly Mix is a selection of butterfly-tastic plants including forget-me-not, and Urban Meadow contains a collection of hardy wildflowers, including musk mallow, that are perfect for pollinators and can survive and thrive in urban areas. Just scatter on top of soil in spring or autumn and wait 4-6 weeks for the sprouts to appear. Include a Seedball gift box and there you have it: the perfect gift for your environmentally-conscious loved ones!

A charming little fountain on a panelled pedestal. The bowl, decorated with bold stylised leaves, is a miniature version of Chilstone’s famous Kew Fountain.

This may seem like a strange pick for a Christmas gift list but I think a soil sieve is the sort of thing that a gardener has on their wish list but never actually gets round to buying (well that applies to me anyway!)
Perfect for sifting soil to the ideal seed-sowing consistency, and as pretty as a soil sieve can be, I reckon. It might be a bit big for a stocking-filler though!
